Originally written in the late 1950s by Jerry Lordan, a singer/songwriter in the U.K., the instrumental “Apache” was inspired by the 1954 Burt Lancaster action movie of the same name. Apache went on to become one of the most iconic songs of the early surf rock genre. First recorded by Burt Weedon the song truly flew to the top of the charts when it was recorded and released by The Shadows.
